Show Notes

Winter 2020 — As they say, all good things must come to an end, a Clams End that is! Thank you Michael Cunningham for the inspiration — we very much enjoyed your book, “Land’s End”
We’ve arrived at the third and final episode of our P-Town Trilogy — where the soup talk continues both in and out of the kitchen, accompanied by some deep cuts from Zoe Lewis’s vast catalogue of music.
In this culminating episode Tave & her Rhode Island resident friend, April Brown, go on a soup making adventure. They share stories while cooking her grandmother’s traditional recipe for Narragansett chowder.
We talk with Mark Bjorstrom, Vice Chair & Treasurer of SKIP – The Soup Kitchen in Provincetown, who gives us a behind the scene tour of the network involved in nourishing the Outer Cape community.
We also visit with Dougie Freeman, the owner of the West End Salon & Spa, and get the scoop from a few friendly dog lovers.
Set your stovetops to simmer, sit back and enjoy our finale:
P-Town Soup, Part III: Clams Ends
We miss you Provincetown!

Ep. 9 Pea(ce) Soup

Sept. 2017  – International Peace Day falls on September 21st, therefore this month we will be emphasizing the Peace – in Peace, Love & Soup. We’re going to talk to Wintry Whit Smith who is spreading peace education worldwide with her Peace Village Global curriculum! She has some simple and helpful superpowers to promote peace for all of us: Stop…..Take a breath….. Be calm…..Be kind! On the soup menu we just couldn’t resist and decided to make a Pea soup — a one pot Minty Garden Pea And Coconut Milk Soup to be exact. It’s a versatile soup you can serve cold, tepid or hot, because who knows what the weather will be on any given day in September! And adding to the audio nourishment this month, will be the musical stylings of THOSE WILLOWS a talented band from right here in Portland, Oregon. Also the song “Powerful Enough”, written by Rand Bishop, performed by Rand Bishop and the kids from the Lincoln City Peace Village. (And be sure to listen for our surprise singing debuts, as Tave puts her own spin on the British classic we now refer to as “Peas for Two” and Brian… Well, let’s just say he’s been holding back his talents.) Let’s get this Peace Show or shoud we say – this episode we call Pea(ce) Soup… on the road. KINDNESS GO! Brian & Tavé ...
